Today we toured the newest city Fire Station. Samantha met Fireman Steve. When he asked Samantha her name she answered, "Sammi." He told her his name was Steve. She reached out her hand and shook his while saying, "Nice to meet you." It was precious!
The kids were able to see a fireman in full "fire" gear, test their heat sensor, learn about kitchen safety and fire safety. We were standing in the Fire Station's georgeous new state-of-the-art kitchen and Samantha tugged on my shirt and said, "When do we go to the fire station, Mommy?" I explained we were in the Fire Station. She looked at me and asked, "Where are the trucks?" I explained that the trucks are in the garage.
